AWFRCA AGM 12 December & Nominations Open for Male Rider Representative

Published Fri 06 Nov 2026

Hi everyone,

The 2026 AWFRCA Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 12 December 2026 at 6pm (Brisbane time), or straight after racing ends, at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron during the Nationals. The Carbon Co BBQ follows the meeting. You can attend in person or online – the joining link will come out with the final papers on 28 November.

This email is your formal notice of meeting and the call for nominations. The agenda and the proposed constitution amendments are attached.

We need a Rider Representative (male)

The EC elected in March serves through to 2028, so the only position up for election is Rider Representative (male). This is the men's fleet's seat at the table – the person riders go to with feedback on formats, equipment rules and events, and who brings that to the EC. It's a genuinely useful role and not a heavy one: EC meetings are roughly monthly and online.

If that's you, or you know someone who would be good at it, here's how it works:

1.  Eligibility – the nominee must be a current Full Member aged 16 or over. You can nominate yourself or another member.

2.  Form – complete the attached Nomination Form, including a short statement (up to 150 words) and the nominee's signed consent.

3.  Deadline – email it to Stuart at [secretary email] by 5pm AEDT, Friday 27 November 2026.

4.  Election – nominees are published with the final papers on 28 November. If there's more than one, members vote by secret ballot at the AGM.

Voting

All Full Members aged 16 or over get one vote. You can vote in person at RQ or online. If you can't make it either way, fill in the attached Proxy Form and email it to Stuart before the meeting starts – another member can then vote on your behalf.

Also on the agenda

  • 2027 membership fee, which will include the class's new third-party liability insurance (cover starts 5 December)
  • Constitution amendments – two tidy-up changes that take officers' names out of the constitution so it doesn't need amending every time a role changes. The redline is attached; this needs a two-thirds vote.
  • Financial statements for the year to 30 June 2026
  • Future events – 2027 calendar, the Gdynia selection pathway and where the 2028 Nationals will be

If you'd like to lodge a submission for the meeting, it needs to reach Stuart by Saturday 7 November (cl. 11.4).

See you in Brisbane.
